Getting There: Long Layover in Tokyo

Travel days are always LONG. Especially when heading westward around the globe--it makes for a very drawn-out day. We are on our way to Taipei, Taiwan, to spend a week exploring. We flew from San Francisco to Tokyo, which was an extensive, eleven hour flight. Ewan did great, entertaining himself with his “ePad,” and he did manage an hour and a half nap. Now, we are in the midst of a five-hour layover at the Narita airport in Tokyo. Thankfully, we have access to the United lounge, where we are enjoying comfy seats, free drinks, snacks, wifi, and entertainment (in the form of expansive picture windows with full runway vistas). Despite our pleas for him to take a short “afternoon” nap (well it is afternoon here, though it is really 4 hours past his normal bedtime at home), he is way too wound up! It’s just too exciting to watch so may planes take off and land!
